Judge StaffTiming on your own team, not on star ratings.
We only publish customer reviews we can verify and have permission to share. Until then, here is how to evaluate time tracking software fairly — and how to test StaffTiming free with your own team.
How we handle customer reviews
Many software sites show ratings and quotes that visitors cannot check. We take a different approach:
- We publish a review only when it comes from a real, paying customer who has given written permission to use their words and name.
- We do not write, edit the meaning of, or pay for reviews, and we do not offer discounts in exchange for positive ratings.
- We do not hide negative feedback we have permission to publish.
- Ratings we show will always say where they come from and when they were collected.

What to test during your free trial
A trial with one real team for one full pay period tells you more than any rating. Use it to check the outcomes that matter to you:
| If your problem is… | Test this in the trial | Where to look |
|---|---|---|
| Payroll rebuilt by hand every period | Approve one period of timesheets and export it to payroll | Payroll & invoicing |
| Disputes about who was on site and when | GPS clock-ins for one field crew | GPS tracking |
| One monitoring setting for everyone | Monitoring on for one role and off for another | Employee monitoring |
| Contractor hours checked in spreadsheets | Per-contractor rates and approved hours | Freelancer tracking |
| No view of where project time goes | Hours per project and task in reports | Reporting |
How to read time tracking software reviews
Reviews are most useful when you read them for your own situation, not for the star rating alone.
- Check the source: prefer independent review platforms that verify reviewers, and be wary of ratings with no stated source or date.
- Match the team type: a review from a 5-person design studio tells you little about running a 200-seat call center.
- Look for outcomes: “saved hours on payroll” or “ended attendance disputes” is more useful than “great app”.
- Read the complaints too: are they about missing features you need, or features you would never use?
- Check the date: software changes quickly; older reviews may describe a different product.
Questions to ask any vendor before you buy
- Can I see how monitoring is configured for one role without affecting others?
- What exactly do employees see about what is being tracked?
- How do approved hours get into payroll?
- Can I export all my data if I leave?

Questions about reviews
Why are there no star ratings on this page?
We only publish ratings and reviews we can verify, with the customer’s permission and a clear source. We would rather show none than show numbers you cannot check.
Can I share my own StaffTiming review?
Yes. Customers can send feedback through the contact page. We publish it only with your written permission and never change its meaning.
What is the best way to judge whether StaffTiming fits my team?
Run the free 14-day trial with one real team for a full pay period and compare the hours, approvals and payroll result with your current process.
